Conservatives Dish Up 'Iraqi Road' Ice Cream

Washington -- Call it the anti-Ben & Jerry's. Three conservatives from the East Coast have just launched an ice cream company for right-leaning dessert lovers.

The Star Spangled Ice Cream company sells flavors like "I Hate The French VANILLA," "Iraqi Road" and "Nutty Environmentalist" and plans to donate a portion of sales to conservative charities.

Co-founder Richard Lessner, whose day job is with the Family Research Council, says future flavors may include "Cowardly German Chocolate," "Donald Rum Raisin" and "U.S. Marine Tough Cookies & Cream."

Right now, the freedom flavors are only available by mail order at starspangledicecream.com, where a four-quart sampler goes for $76.

Not surprisingly, the ice cream has gotten a lot of flak for its politically incorrect stance, but Lessner doesn't care. "The people we're trying to sell to will understand," he says.
