Dallas, TX -- When it comes to parents, the in-laws win out over the originals. According to a new parenting poll by Blockbuster Video, 39 percent of Americans like their in-laws as much as their own parents and 17 percent like them more. An additional 17 percent wish the in-laws "would go on "Survivor" and never come back."

ALBERT LEA, Minn. -- Teachers didn't believe a fifth grade boy whose excuse for falling asleep in class was that the baby tiger sleeping in his room was keeping him up. But when officers investigated, they found he was telling the truth and removed a 35-pound pet tiger from the house, reports the "Minneapolis Star Tribune."

JAIPUR, India -- This has got to be a bummer: An 18-year-old from India who has lived life up until now as a girl has just been told by doctors that she is really a boy. The teen, named Poonam, went into a Jaipur hospital complaining of abdominal pain, and tests revealed it was an emerging penis. Doctors operated to free the sex organ and now the teen is living life as a man, reports United News of India.

COPENHAGEN -- A Danish pet food store is offering more than $1,400 in reward money to help nab a pigs' ear bandit. 32,000 dried pigs' ears were stolen from the store and police have no leads on the thief. The piggy-treats are a popular dog snack.
