Historian Claims Abe Lincoln Was A White Supremist

Monroe, LA -- Abraham Lincoln was born on this day (Feb. 12) in 1809 and while he gets credit for freeing the slaves, he might feel more at home at a KKK rally than a Jay-Z concert.

That's according to Louisiana-based historian Walter Kennedy, author of a new book, "Myths Of American Slavery" (Pelican Publishing). He says Lincoln wasn't particularly fond of African-Americans and freely admitted in speeches that he felt the white race was "superior."

Kennedy says Honest Abe had little to do with ending "domestic slavery" and says the "Great Emancipator" imposed civil and political enslavement in its place, by not letting citizens in the South make their own choices.

That's not all. Kennedy claims Lincoln trashed civil liberties by holding military tribunals and used political perks to ban opposition to his ideas.

Despite having little love for Lincoln, Kennedy doesn't think we should revoke a holiday in his honor. He just wants Americans to study the past more closely because, "how we were governed 150 years ago affects us now."
