Consumer 'Cocooners' Bursting Into Butterflies

New York, NY -- The age of consumer cocooning is over -- now, folks want to become "butterflies."

According to luxury marketing consultant Pam Danziger, more and more rich folks are emerging from the plush cocoons of their fancy homes and trying to give something back to society.

She says the mindset of buyers in the luxury market is a good indication of what everyday Joes and Janes will be thinking in the future.

Right now, gussying up your home and staying in for a night in the home theater is losing out to getting out and helping your fellow neighbors.

According to Danziger, Bill Gates is a good example of a "butterfly" because even though he has enough money to hide away in a castle forever, he's chosen to set up charities he thinks will make the world a better place.

Other butterfly activities that will increase in popularity as people stop cocooning include traveling, joining book clubs and hobnobbing on the golf course.
