Rose Marie Won't Sing Praises Of Today's Singers

Los Angeles, CA -- Teen idols like Britney Spears and Pink don't look so rosey to old school entertainers like Rose Marie.

The 77-year-old former "Dick Van Dyke Show" cast member says she can't stand to listen to modern music because "all that's required is how much you can yell."

Rose Marie should know. She started out in show business 74 years ago and managed to convince people she was a grown-up singer even at age three.

However, she no longer sings and says it's because she "can't understand the lyrics" to today's songs.

And while she loves Barbra Streisand, she says, these days, talent doesn't matter if you're a female singer. Instead, "it's how much of your breasts you can show."

Is it any wonder Rose Marie is stretching into other fields? She's just published her autobiography, "Hold The Roses" (University of Kentucky Press).
