Vancouver, British Columbia -- The next time you see actor John Schneider throw a punch on "Smallville," look closely and you might see a little bit of "The Dukes of Hazzard."

The former Bo Duke, who plays Clark Kent's father Jonathan, says he puts up his "dukes of hazard" in a style that is -- in his words -- "uniquely mine."

If he has to punch someone he says he has to "Bo Duke him."

"The Dukes of Hazzard" has paid off in more than one way: Schneider says climbing through the window of the General Lee has made it easier on him when he has to do similar stunts for "Smallville."

And his earlier days of shooting for 14 hours straight has made him sympathetic when "Smallville" star Tom Welling comes to him all tuckered out from his long days on the set.

Schneider says Welling looks at him with eyes that say "You've been there and I can survive this too."
