|
New York, NY (WFN) -- If the impending war with Iraq goes as George W. Bush plans, there will be a terrible shortage of surrender flags in that country. A New York-based novelty company is trying to fill the void by getting Americans to send tattered white flags to Iraq for the Iraqi Republican Guard to use in case they're attacked. Albin Sadar of Slycraft Novelties says the so-called "Peace: Something to Shoot For" program is modeled on Save The Children: Folks who pay $10 get a certificate of their good deed and the good feeling of helping a human being in need. Sadar says "surrender sponsors" may even get a picture of their chosen Iraqi soldier waving the white flag but admits that's pending their availability for the photo shoot. The first shipment of flags is being sent later this week to Saddam Hussein's presidential palace in Baghdad.
