Hollywood, CA (WFN) -- Here's proof Democratic presidential candidate Howard Dean inspires passion in his supporters: A California bride is asking folks to give money to Dean's campaign instead of buying gifts for her and her hubby-to-be.

Blanche Ramirez says she and her fiance already have all the housewares they need so she'd rather her wedding guests give money to the man she's supporting for president.

Ramirez has set up a "Dean Team" bridal registry at deanforamerica.com/deanteam and she's shooting to raise at least $2000 for the campaign by the time she gets hitched.

The 26-year-old says the idea came out of her desire to do more for Dean's campaign and her lack of interest in registering for wedding gifts.

The plan doesn't please her mother -- a "staunch Republican" -- and Ramirez figures she'll get at least a few gifts from guests who don't support Dean.
