Knoxville, TN (WFN) -- Santa Claus may be trading his sleigh and red suit for a red Cadillac and a white jumpsuit. At least when he visits a country music capital like Nashville, Tennessee. That's the premise of a new book, "Country Music Night Before Christmas" (Pelican Publishing), which imagines how Kris Kringle might visit a country music fan. Author Thomas N. Turner figures a country-fried Claus would fly around in the red caddy instead of using reindeer and wear a snazzy cowboy hat instead of his usual Christmas cap. Some of the lines in the country version of "Twas The Night Before Christmas" poem include, "On the back of his coat was a sequined guitar on his red cowboy hat was a big rhinestone star." That's not all. Turner believes a southern Santa would love country music and travel around the Earth with musical elves that sound just like Patsy Cline, Conway Twitty and Hank Williams. Turner admits he had a blast writing a country Christmas story but he's not stopping there. Now he's working on a cool jazz version where Santa hangs out with Miles Davis and Dave Brubeck.
