Singapore (WFN) -- Never underestimate the power of greed: A working mom in Singapore claims her little girl began walking two months earlier than normal because she had to compete for toys with other kids at her daycare center. BAKERSFIELD, Calif. -- A California sheriff's deputy is learning the "dudes" and don'ts of his job, thanks to a local mayor he ticketed during a traffic stop. Arvin Mayor Juan Olivares says he's going to file a complaint against the deputy for repeatedly calling him "dude" during the process. The mayor says he's a "gentleman" not a dude, and would like to get the deputy fired for his allegedly disrespectful behavior, according to the "Modesto Bee." EAST BRUNSWICK, N.J. -- Rescuers in East Brunswick, N.J., saved a five-year-old dog from a garbage truck packed with 40 tons of trash just moments before it was dropped seven feet into the landfill. The shepherd mix was taken to a kennel where it was in good health, despite smelling like trash, and has made friends with a one-eyed pit bull, according to the "Home News Tribune of East Brunswick." SAN MARCOS, Texas -- Here's news to make you scream and shout: A Texas State University physics professor claims to have discovered the exact location painter Edvard Munch painted the famous work "The Scream" in 1893. Professor Donald W. Olson and a team of researchers claim the spot is a road once called Ljabrochausseen, now a modern roadway called Mosseveien in Oslo, Norway. Olson concludes that the red glowing sky depicted in the background coincides with the eruption of the volcano Krakatoa.
