New York, NY -- "Queer Eye For The Straight Guy" cuisine expert Ted Allen is looking at a new subject these days -- low carb diets.

The Fab Five foodie is a spokesman for a new website, lowcarbparties.com, which was set up by the company which makes Smirnoff vodka, Crown Royal and Cuervo tequila.

Allen says although he doesn't follow the low carb craze, lots of his friends do, so when he entertains he has to make sure they have something suitable to eat.

The crazy part is that most of the low-carb creations are things that you'd think would be bad for you -- like sausage-stuffed mushroom caps and the salty Italian ham prosciutto.

Allen also says you'd be surprised to know that cocktails like Crown Royal and ginger ale have no carbs, compared to the 2.6 grams of carbs in a "low carb beer."

"It's counter-intuitive, and that's why it's fun," he remarks.
