Haddon Heights, NJ -- Three men from New Jersey are letting their hair down to fight cancer.

Twenty-one-year-old Alex Wildman, and his two friends Ryan Petrillo and Tommy Avallone will give up shaving their faces starting today (Dec. 3) as a campaign to raise funds for cancer research.

The trio are looking for sponsors -- public and private -- to pledge a dollar for each day they go unshaven. Wildman says they already have 10 friends and family members who have pledged and they haven't even begun to target corporate sponsorship.

Wildman says they choose this form of fundraising because they all think beards are "neat" and "hate cancer."

Wildman insists there's no catch or gimmick behind it, other than aid to cancer research because each of them has lost of a loved one to the disease.
