| 2003-12-03 - Weird News Wireless Flash News Movies Get Rapped By Hip-Hop Reviewers | ||
|
Oceanside, CA (WFN) -- Reviewers rap movies all the time but on one film-oriented website, the reviewers also have to actually rap. MovieRap.com is, so far, the only film site designed for a hip-hop oriented audience, and that means the critics are a crew of rappers who freestyle rhyming reviews regarding "Freddy Vs. Jason" and "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre" and even arty films like "Lost In Translation." Spokesman Todd Turner says hip-hop has infiltrated every aspect of American culture and figures a movie show for rappers is long overdue. Turner doesn't think the rap reviewers will rhyme about reversal shots and cinematography but figures there will be lots of verses regarding special effects. So far, the rapping film critics are mostly up-and-comers from southern California, but Turner says big wigs like Gene Shalit and Roger Ebert are invited to mix it up anytime they want.
