Los Angeles, CA -- A cartoonist in Los Angeles is thankful for a lot of things this Thanksgiving -- especially those psychedelic mushrooms he took two years ago.

The cartoonist, known only as "Berk," says he never would have fulfilled his life's dream of doing a comic strip if he hadn't "shroomed" through a shamanic experience in Oaxaca, Mexico, with a mother and son who didn't speak English or Spanish.

Berk says he came out of the psychedelic experience a changed person and felt free to draw his dream strip without being encumbered by doubt.

Amazingly, things have worked out well for Berk since then. His psychedelic experiences helped inspired a new comic, "Permatrip," that runs in alternative newspapers across America.
