Los Angeles, CA (WFN) -- The family that plays together stays together -- as long as the game is "Fear Factor."

That's the lesson that 11-year-old Dakota Tabor learned while competing on the show's family version, which airs Monday (Nov. 24).

It wasn't easy. In one stunt, Dakota had to shower in corn syrup and dip his head in a vat of worms that were then removed by his dad -- using only his mouth.

Dakota says the stunt brought him closer to his father, who had to treat him as an equal, not a kid, during the competitions.

He describes appearing on "Fear Factor "as being like "Christmas and a birthday combined" but it wasn't perfect.

Dakota is miffed that producers didn't let the kid contestants participate in any of the gross food stunts and gripes, "It's not like we didn't know what we were getting into."
