Food Network Turns 10

New York, NY (WFN) -- Here's food for thought: The culinary TV channel Food Network is celebrating it's 10th anniversary on Sunday (Nov. 23).

The Food Network launched on November 23, 1993, and according to the network bigwigs, chefs have cooked 30,000 recipes since then.

All those recipes come from 11,000 cooking shows on six continents in 27 countries -- covering more than 50 cuisines.

The Network also estimates that over the past 10 years, chefs have gone through...

-- 26,000 pounds of sugar.

-- 15,600 lemons.

-- 10,000 red bell peppers.

-- 12,000 gallons of mayonnaise.

-- 6,000 quarts of extra virgin olive oil.

-- Finally, Food Network chefs have used 20,000 tortillas.
