San Diego, CA (WFN) -- San Diego resident Melody More is rebuilding her house after it was lost in the California wildfire, but first, she's working on rebuilding a gingerbread house.

Morse is an award-winning gingerbread house builder who for the past five years has entered the Epilepsy Foundation of San Diego County's annual design competition.

But tragedy struck recently, first when Morse, who also decorates cakes at a grocery store, was locked out of work when the Southern California grocery workers' union went on strike on Oct. 11.

Then on Oct. 21, Morse's house burned down in the Tierrasanta wildfire, taking her gingerbread house too.

But Morse is a trooper and says she's rebuilding her gingerbread house because she says she knows how much publicity the contest brings to the Epilepsy Foundation.

It's also cathartic for Morse, saying this is her largest creative output each year.
