New York, NY (WFN) -- Singles who've tried every dating fad and are still nursing a lonely heart may fare better with a new matchmaking group that brings people together based on their love of dogs. Called Leashes and Lovers, the New York-based company regularly holds parties for singles who are roving for a mate who'll also like their rover. Co-founder Michelle Kennedy met her own husband through his golden retriever puppy, which she noticed before looking at the man at the end of its leash. Most of the Leashes and Lovers events are held at bars where dogs aren't allowed, but Kennedy encourages singles to bring pictures of their pooches. She says a shared love of dogs is a real icebreaker and can get strangers past the awkwardness of starting a conversation and straight into something they're compatible with.
