Houston, TX (WFN) -- A man in Houston is running away with a unique honor: The fastest man over 50.

Bill Collins turns 53 on Thursday (Nov. 20) and, at an age when some guys start using walkers, he's running 100 meters in 10.95 seconds.

That's only a half-second off his best time as an 18-year-old.

Collins has been running all his life, but injuries kept him from competing on an Olympic stage. Still, he owns 17 world records for folks over 40.

Just because Collins has old dogs doesn't mean he doesn't learn new tricks. He credits his long-term success to running with his body covered with lycra "because it feels like I'm being massaged."

Collins is running up in years and says he won't stop until his "wheels come off." Still, he's preparing for that day with his day job -- teaching pro football players how to improve their times in the 40 meter dash.
