Washington (WFN) -- The Republican National Committee (RNC) still has beefs with the upcoming CBS mini-series about Ronald Reagan -- but it's nothing a few historians can't handle. RNC Chairman Ed Gillespie is so worried the mini-series will portray Reagan inaccurately, that he is asking CBS President Les Moonves to have the series reviewed for historical accuracy prior to the premiere. Gillespie hopes to have both historians and people who know Ron and Nancy watch the film and cut out scenes that are completely fictional. In Gillespie's opinion, that includes the scene which shows Reagan, played by James Brolin, refer to AIDS by saying, "They who live in sin, shall die in sin." Republican National Committee spokeswoman Christine Iverson says even the mini-series' screenwriter admits that's a made-up line, and she worries future generations will take it as fact. If CBS refuses to review "The Reagans" mini-series for historical accuracy prior to broadcast, the Republicans do hope to run a crawl every ten minutes reminding viewers the show is fiction.
