Wisconsin Dells, WI (WFN) -- It's not exactly the Berlin Wall, but the largest billboard in the U.S. will soon be torn down. The 6,300-square-foot wooden billboard looms on the property of Kalahari Resort & Convention Center in Wisconsin Dells, Wis., and will be torn down sometime early next week to make way for the construction of a 120-unit condominium complex. The sign reads "Tommy Bartlett Show -- Noah Ark Next Exit" and features cartoon waterskiers. Resort property owner, Todd Nelson says the sign isn't an eyesore, it's "stopping progress." Nelson says he believes some members of the community may be sad to see it go, and he adds "you can't move it and you can't build them this large anymore." The board was built in 1980, and, according to researchers working for Nelson, the new record-holder is a sign in Boston measuring 6,000-square-feet.
