Chicago, IL -- An outplacement expert has a surefire technique to help voters pick the best Democratic contender for the job of President: Use the same techniques corporate bigwigs use in job interviews.

John Challenger says Howard Dean, Carol Moseley Braun, John Kerry and the rest of the lot are basically applying for a job by running for president, while the voters are the hiring committee.

Here are some of things he says you should look for when watching the candidates' debates, which start tonight (Sep. 25):

-- Candidates who don't answer the question they've been asked and steer the debate to other topics. Challenger says this means they don't know about the issue or they're inflexible.

-- Folks who interrupt the interviewer, which is the "kiss of death" for a corporate interview and should be seen as the same for a presidential candidate.

-- Finally, Challenger says politicians who fail to ask you to vote for them make people think they're not interested in the job.
