|
Philadelphia, PA -- Cue ball cuties who wish they had more hair on their heads may soon have their wishes fulfilled, thanks to the miracles of modern science. Dr. Ken Washenik runs two research labs with the sole goal of figuring out a way to clone hair and harvest the "seeds" for implantation on chrome domes. He predicts that within five years, scientists will be growing hair on people's heads much like farmers grow wheat or corn -- with an unlimited potential for luxurious locks. Dr. Washenik works for the hair loss treatment company Bosley, which advocates hair follicle transplantation surgery. But the doc points out this procedure -- as well as other hair loss treatments like Rogaine -- only holds on to the hair you have and doesn't give you more, which is why hair cloning is so important to the future of baldness remedies.
