Sydney, Australia, Tops With Gay Travelers

San Francisco, CA (WFN) -- Sydney, Australia, is probably feeling lots of pride -- it's been chosen as the best travel destination in the world for gays.

The gay travel magazine "Out & About" says Sydney deserves high marks because of its "magical combination of culture, nightlife, beaches and warm, gay friendly welcome."

Editor Ed Salvato says Sydney locals worked especially hard through financial hardship to host the Gay Games in 2002.

But some vacation destinations aren't so hot for gay tourists.

"Out & About" gives the Sandals Resorts chain its "Rock Bottom" award for the 10th consecutive year because it has a "heterosexuals only" couples policy.
