Las Vegas, NV -- Next January, a travel company will lead a real-life treasure hunt for the REAL pirates of the caribbean. Adventure Pointe travel company has teamed up with professional explorers to search for Captain Henry Morgan's pirate ship, The Oxford, that sank off the coast of Haiti in 1669. The exploration will launch January 2, 2004, the 335th anniversary of the day that Morgan's ship caught fire and sank during a rum-induced party. Company founder Gordon Hunsucker says the ship is rumored to be stocked with 200,000 silver coins, 150,000 gold bars and an assortment of emeralds and jewlery. The travel company will be taking tourists with them during the several months worth of excavating and says the project may be turned into a TV reality show. However, Hunsucker says tourists won't be allowed to keep any of the loot. Fifty percent of the booty goes to the Haitian government, and the rest will be split between the exploration companies.
