Missoula, MT (WFN) -- American sports mascots are mad as hell at Randall Simon for banging a giant sausage mascot -- and aren't going to take it anymore.

The Pittsburgh Pirate recently took a swing at a runner dressed as an Italian sausage during a game against the Milwaukee Brewers.

Now, one grizzled mascot wants to make sure Simon learns that wearing a mascot suit can be a real costume drama.

University of Montana mascot Monte the Grizzly Bear -- the reigning "Mascot Of The Year" -- is challenging Simon to a mascot Olympics -- four athletic events and a comedy routine.

Monte's "interpreter," Barry Anderson says break-dancing, crowd surfing and horseback-riding are hard enough but the difficulty factor goes up when you're wearing a giant head.

No word on whether Simon will walk in a mascot's moccasins but Capital One Financial Corporation is offering to donate $10,000 to his favorite charity if he has the guts to answer the challenge.
