Avon, MA (WFN) -- Rubber ducks are worth big bucks in New England these days. Oceanographers are expecting hundreds of bathtub toys to wash ashore New England, Canada and Iceland at any moment. The rubber duckies, turtles, beavers and frogs originally fell off a cargo ship in the North Pacific Ocean during a storm and sea experts have been tracking them ever since in hopes of learning about ocean currents. Since then, the ducks have been sighted near Hawaii, the Arctic circle and Europe and are now about to wash up on New England shores. Sea scientists are now asking Boston-based beachcombers who find the ducks to report their "duckscovery," and the child products company, First Years, hopes to help the quacking cause with a financial incentive -- a $100 savings bond for every duck retrieved. If you find one of the ducks, call (800) 317-3194.
