New York, NY (WFN) -- They used to say kids should be seen and not heard -- but that's changing a far as shopping is concerned. According to a study by MarketResearch.com, 78 percent of American grocery purchases are controlled by kids between the ages of 5 and 14.

VALENCIA, Spain -- Men with attractive faces also produce the best-quality sperm. That's according to a study at the University of Valencia in Spain which asked women to rank the faces of several men whose sperm was also being tested. The results suggest the best-looking faces produced the "strongest swimmers." In a similar study, researchers at the University of Nottingham in England had men rank the faces of 30 young women and those deemed most attractive also had the best-sounding voices.

BANGKOK, Thailand -- Forty women ranging from age 28 to 51 will compete in Thailand's Miss Khan Thong (old maid) beauty pageant on June 15 -- out of a whopping 100 who applied to the contest. The oldest contestant, Supalak Jaruvarapirom, says she may be an old maid, but that doesn't mean she didn't lead a full life. She says, "I've gone through many loves, but it just turned out we didn't match each other."

Mustsumi Oki tells the "Asahi Shimbun" newspaper the bird charges straight at him every day as he travels his route on his red motorbike. An ornithologist theorizes the male pheasant might be misinterpreting the red scooter as the red markings on a rival male.
