New York, NY (WFN) -- The "Campbell's Chunky Soup Curse" may strike again -- this time on Tampa Bay Bucs defensive back John Lynch, New York Giants defensive end Michael Strahan and Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb.

Those three have just been picked to star in commercials for the soup -- which almost guarantees they'll have a higher risk of injury this season, according to sports writer Dan Lewis.

He says many gridiron greats who've appeared in Chunky Soup commercials suffered injuries not long after, including Terrell Davis, Kurt Warner and Jerome Bettis.

McNabb suffered the curse last season, but he isn't letting it stop him from doing the commercials again this year.

Campbell spokeswoman Kate Shields insists company officials don't believe in the "Chunky Soup Curse," but Lewis disagrees.

He figures the company might be hedging their bets by hiring defensive players who are less likely to be injured than the guys who play offense.
