Los Angeles, CA -- "Fear Factor" is not only impacting TV ratings -- it's directly affecting special effects in top movies.

That's because of "Fear Factor" finalist Todd Staples, who does special effects for movies when he isn't eating bugs or climbing out of buildings on the show.

Staples is working on films like "Scooby Doo 2" and says his experience on "Fear Factor" is giving him an inside view on how people really react and move in adrenaline-pumping situations.

He says "Fear Factor" helped him understand what happens when two skydivers crash into each other and he used that inside knowledge for a Discovery Channel documentary.

Staples' "Fear Factor" win has also helped him careerwise, by convincing colleagues that a guy willing to eat a pizza covered with blood, bile and live worms is probably determined enough to do anything.
