|
Los Angeles, CA (WFN) -- It's been an intense few weeks for songwriter Lamont Dozier -- who is no longer standing in the shadows of Motown, thanks to "American Idol." Dozier is the guy who wrote classics like "You Can't Hurry Love," "You Keep Me Hanging On" and "How Sweet It Is." However, he was also one of the first celebrity judges on "American Idol" and, as a result, he's been recognized more often in the last few weeks than in the last 40 years. Dozier isn't complaining but he admits it's a shock to lose his anonymity as much as he has -- although he says it's tapering off. The attention will probably start up again -- soon. Dozier and partners Brian and Eddie Holland are being inducted on the Hollywood Rock Walk later today (May 12) and will be honored by their fellow songwriters at the BMI Pop Awards tomorrow night in Beverly Hills.
