Chicago, IL (WFN) -- The best way to keep your kids from becoming little punks might be to start a punk rock band with them.

That's the noteworthy advice from Chicago executive Bill Paige, who spends his spare time jamming with his two sons in a family punk band called Splatter.

Paige says there's no better way to bond with the kids and all the screaming and thrashing helps them be more mellow later.

Besides, he feels there's not much difference between punk rockers like the Ramones and current faves like Green Day and Blink-182.

But punking out with the kids does take some work for parents -- mainly, because you can't expect much "real music" to be made.

Also, you have to be as open-minded as your kids. That means for every Clash or Sex Pistols song you make your kids learn, you'll probably have to learn something by the White Stripes or Hoobastank.
