Oakland, CA (WFN) -- If you and your dog look like you were separated at birth, it could land you on TV.

A new reality show is in the works where owners with look-alike dogs square off against other owner-pooch couples.

A deal was signed recently between a production company and sociologist Gini Graham Scott, who was already searching for dogs and their look-alike owners for a book she's working on.

Very few details for the TV show have been finalized, but Graham Scott says it will likely have pooches and their masters participating in agility and intelligence tests like the ones typically seen at dog shows.

The TV show won't go into production until next year, some time after the January publication of Graham Scott's book, "Do You Look Like Your Dog?" (Broadway Books).
