New York, NY (WFN) -- What does David Letterman-flavored popcorn taste like? A popcorn entrepreneur hopes to get a kernel of an idea.

Richard Demb owns a gourmet popcorn place called Popcorn, Indiana, that will be popping up in Times Square in a few weeks.

In honor of the Indiana tie-in, Demb hopes to butter up Letterman, another Indiana native, and get him to name a flavor.

It's just like Letterman to come up with an unappetizing flavor just for laughs, but Demb isn't worried. His gut feeling is that the talk show host would be more inclined to like the taffy-apple flavor.

Although Demb hopes Letterman is sweet on the popcorn flavor, but he isn't closing his doors to other talk show hosts either -- just in case Jay Leno or Jimmy Kimmel want to devise their own popcorn snacks.
