Los Angeles, CA (WFN) -- Los Angeles Lakers superstar Kobe Bryant is considering becoming a free agent next year and while every basketball team may want him, it may not be his only sport of choice.

That's the word from Kobe's Dad, Joe Bryant, who says his superstar son has what it takes to be good in the relatively new sport of "Slam Ball" as well.

Slam Ball is a made-for-TV sport combining basketball with trampolines and full-body contact.

Bryant -- a former NBA player himself -- now coaches Slam Ball and says that not every athlete is up for the challenge of the game because "you have to know what you're doing in the air."

Still, he's confident that Kobe could easily adjust his hoop game to Slam Ball but won't comment if he plans to recruit him to the sport when his current contract with the Lakers runs out.

Slam Ball begins its second season in August on Spike TV.
