Houma, LA (WFN) -- Officials in Houma, Louisiana, have dropped obscenity charges against "Jackass" star Stephen Glover -- better known as "Steve-O."

Glover was charged with violating obscenity laws after exposing himself in public and stapling his scrotum to his thighs.

Although he is avoiding jail time and a potential $1 million bail, Steve-O will still have to pay a fine of $1068 and make a $5000 donation to a Louisiana shelter for battered women.

Prosecutors in the case concede that Steve-O's scrotum stapling might be a form of artistic expression and therefore, protected under the First Amendment -- but that doesn't mean they want to see it.

Steve-O is permanently banned from performing in Terrebonne Parish, Louisiana, the county where the scrotum stapling took place.

Not that he cares. He's currently touring Europe in support of a new DVD, "Don't Try This At Home: The Steve-O Video, Vol. II: The Tour."
