Americans Hate The French -- But Still Like To Travel There

Boston, MA (WFN) -- Americans may find France's resistance to a war with Iraq a pain in the derriere, but that isn't keeping Americans from visiting France.

In fact, a Boston-based company that books bicycle tours through France says reservations for 2003 are exceeding last year's.

Andy Levine, president of DuVine Adventures, says he's getting no signs that Americans have turned their backs on the crepe eaters.

"Even before this happened, the French were crazy and have a different point of view," he says, "but everyone knows that."

Levine says bookings were up 25 percent in January and February of this year.

He says it just goes to show you can't believe everything you see on the news, but adds, "then again, our travelers aren't stuck to CNN with duct tape."
