New York, NY (WFN) -- A New York soda manufacturer is hoping the 65th anniversary of the Shirley Temple drink drives everyone to drink. Charles Ray of The Original Shirley Temple Beverage Company is about to release a bottled version of the Shirley Temple that features a maraschino cherry in every bottle. The original 7-Up and grenadine drink was created in April, 1938 at Hollywood's Chasen's Restaurant to celebrate the child star's 10th birthday, and has been popular with preteens ever since. Others have tried to sell pre-made Shirley Temples in the past, but the actress has been able to veto the use of her name. However, Ray hopes to skirt that issue by marketing his drink with this mouthful of a name: "The Original Shirley Temple Beverage, with a real cherry inside of every bottle." Don't pop a vessel worrying if your kid will choke on it. The bottle has a special cherry trap designed to keep the fruit from popping out.
