Domo Arigato Mr. 'Asimo'

Atlanta, GA (WFN) -- The world may soon be giving thanks to a robot named "ASIMO."

ASIMO stands for "Advanced Step in Innovative Mobility" and is the world's most advanced humanoid robot according to its creators Honda Motor Co., Ltd.

The ASIMO was designed to be a helper robot for senior citizens and the disabled and is currently touring North America showing off its ability to grasp objects, turn lights on and off and open and close doors.

According to a spokeswoman, the robot's most amazing technological feature is its ability to walk on uneven surfaces and climb stairs.

The ASIMO stands four-feet tall, weighs 115 pounds and looks a lot like the space suit astronauts use during space walks, but is not available to the public yet.

ASIMO's next stop will be in Atlanta this weekend.
