New York, NY (WFN) -- Ever wonder why Andy Rooney's eyebrows are so bushy?

Probably not, but the "60 Minutes" commentator spent time commenting on them anyway at the recent Writers Guild East Awards in New York.

In fact, Rooney told gossip reporter Baird Jones that he's had bushy eyebrows all his life and never had them trimmed once "even though the hair often gets in my eyes so I am constantly having to flatten them with my thumbs."

Despite that inconvenience, the 84-year-old professional grump says he refuses to ever barber his brows -- and won't get a facelift either for that matter.

In his words, "I find that kind of vanity in a man abhorrent."
