London, England (WFN) -- Human beatboxes from all over the globe will be making tracks to London next month for the world's first human beatbox convention.

At least 150 vocal percussionists are expected to attend the April 26 convention, including beatboxers from America, Switzerland, Germany and Italy.

Watching people imitating drums and bass with their mouth and tongue sounds ridiculous but convention organizer Alex Tew says beatboxing is one of the "most exciting art forms around...and has an ability to entertain people that is unlike anything else."

Although friendly competition will be part of the festivities, there will also be seminars on recording beatboxes, using beatboxing with a-capella harmony and health issues facing the human beatbox community.
