Joe Satriani, The Susan Lucci Of Guitar Gods

New York, NY (WFN) -- Squealy guitar god Joe Satriani has a shocking confession: He says he's "the Susan Lucci of guitarists."

What does he mean? Satriani explains that he has been nominated for more than a dozen Grammys, but has yet to win.

The guitarist says he used to attend the award presentations but won't this year, and not just because he never wins.

According to the rocker, he soured on the experience when the audience booed Jethro Tull in 1988 and it was changed into applause for the telecast.

So, don't expect to see Satriani's chrome dome on this year's telecast, even though he's nominated in the category of Best Rock Instrumental Performance for the song "Starry Night."

The "45th Annual Grammy Awards" ceremony airs February 23.
