Dave Koz Jazzed About Grammy Nomination

Los Angeles, CA (WFN) -- Smooth jazz sax player Dave Koz has a good reason to be jazzed over his recent Grammy nomination -- it's keeping peace in the family.

Koz and his brother, producer Jeff Koz were both nominated in the "Best Pop Instrumental Performance" category for their rendition of the Beatles ballad "Blackbird" and, in his words, "my mother is very happy."

The nomination is especially gratifying for Koz because it was from what he says was his most challenging recording, "Golden Slumbers: A Father's Lullaby."

Koz admits he never figured recording lullabies would be so difficult but says "most musicians aren't used to putting people to sleep."

The Grammy Awards take place February 23 in New York City.
