Sacramento, CA (WFN) -- Lip gloss may seem like an unlikely bit of marketing for a rock band filled with tough, macho guys, but the boys of Oleander are all for it.

They've put their name behind a lip gloss currently being sold in beauty boutiques by the Los Angeles-based company Star Crazy.

It's not just lip service. Singer Thomas Flowers says the Oleander lip goo was made by a friend of the band and he thinks it's very flattering.

But, does the sparkly light lime green shade look flattering on him?

Flowers states he's never worn the gloss in public but when the samples came in the mail, he tried it on in the privacy of his home and liked how it smelled and felt on his lips.

Plus, one bonus was he had instant Christmas presents for, quote, "all the females in my life."

Oleander's new record, "Joyride," hits stores March 4, 2003.
