Stephen Collins Turns 55 (Oct. 1)

Los Angeles, CA -- "7th Heaven" star Stephen Collins turns 55 tomorrow (Oct. 1) and, while he has no plans to leave the series anytime soon, he'll soon be singing for his supper.

That's because Collins is an accomplished singer and is getting ready to release two new albums: One containing his take on popular tunes and the other a Christmas recording.

One person who is anticipating big sales is singer Pat Boone, who signed Collins to the Gold Label, the label he owns with Merv Griffin.

He says Collins has a voice that most record companies would be dying to sign if they weren't busy "looking for the next N'Sync."

No word on the exact release date of Collins' recordings but the Christmas CD should be out before Christmas.
