Elvis Throws Guitar At Couple, Makes Them Rich

New York, NY -- Elvis Presley was known for having a bad temper, and it looks like that might just make two of his fans very rich.

Back in 1975, Lawrence and Heather Long attended an Elvis concert where The King got frustrated by a broken string and hurled his guitar into the audience -- right into the waiting arms of Mr. Long.

Mr. Long then handed it to his wife, which Elvis saw and apologized by saying, "I hope I didn't hurt her. The little lady can keep the guitar."

Now, after keeping it for 26 years, the couple is auctioning it off, and auctioneer Arlan Ettinger says it's going to fetch them a pretty penny -- more than $100,000.

That's not all. Ettinger says the Elvis auction will also feature a few of his handguns and his first guitar which was bought at a hardware store because it was cheaper than the shotgun 11-year-old Elvis really wanted.

Guernsey's Auction of Rock Greats And Legends Of The Big Screen takes place in New York City October 12 and 13.
