David Blaine: A Real Stand-Up Guy

New York, NY -- Magician David Blaine wants to prove he's a stand-up guy -- even if it takes 35 hours.

Tomorrow (May 21), Blaine will climb up an 10-story pillar in Manhattan's Bryant Park and attempt to stand for 35 hours straight on a 22-inch diameter platform.

Then when he's done, Blaine will jump off the platform into a pile of cardboard boxes "...just like Buster Keaton," he says.

Blaine has been training for the event for a whole year -- everything from classes in yoga and free falling to holding practice sessions in wind tunnels.

Still, Blaine says the most crucial part of the ordeal isn't physical, it's "...focusing on what the hell I'm doing."

Blaine's marathon standing attempt will be featured on "David Blaine: Vertigo," airing Wednesday (May 22) on ABC.
