Aussie Rockers The Church: 'We're Like A Posh Restaurant'

San Diego, CA -- Aussie rockers The Church are best-known for the 1988 hit "Under The Milky Way" -- but that doesn't guarantee they'll play it during their current U.S. tour.

According to guitarist Marty Willson-Piper, "We're the kind of group that won't play our hits."

He says the band prefers to perform songs that reflect where they currently are musically instead of doing "nostalgia shows" that recap their commercial hits.

For that reason, Willson-Piper compares The Church to "a posh restaurant" where the owner chooses what you eat.

"People come to our shows and they go 'Right, what are they going to serve us now?"' he says.

Here's an answer to that question: The Church will kick off its U.S. tour tonight (Apr. 4) in San Diego with material from the new album "After Everything Now This."
