Chantilly, VA -- Although afro-headed artist Bob Ross from public TV's "Joy of Painting" died in 1995, many folks aren't aware that he and his "happy clouds" have passed into the great beyond.

According to Joan Kowalski, a spokeswoman for Ross' company -- which is currently celebrating its 20th anniversary -- most people think the soothing-voiced artist is still alive.

She thinks the main reason for this is Ross' appearance -- frizzy afro, bushy beard, '70s earthtone clothes -- has remained constant over the years.

If you're thinking of scoring a Ross original, you're going to get brushed off -- Kowalski says Ross was staunchly against selling his paintings and they're all still stacked up in his Chantilly, Virginia office.
