|
Joliet, IL (WFN) -- Actor William Shatner is boldly going where he has never gone before -- into the world of paintball. The "Star Trek" actor admits he's done almost every kind of athletic activity except for paintball until recently when he experienced his first game. He's become a quick fan of the sport, which he claims "is more exciting than anyone can imagine," especially "the fire of competition and the win at all costs attitude." This past August, Shatner hosted what is believed to be the "largest paintball tourney ever" in Joliet, Illinois. The event has been documented for a pay-per-view documentary, "Splat Attack." More than 2000 paintball participants painted the town red, dressed up as either Klingons, Borgs or as Federation members protecting 71-year-old Shatner from paint pellets. The "Star Trek" stud admits he was apprehensive about paintball welts initially, but now he knows how to be "appropriately dressed" to prevent injuries.
